A visit to Todi
A visit to the town of Todi does not belie what can be seen
from a distance: it is pervaded by a medieval atmosphere rich
in art and culture certainly making it one of the unforgettable
destinations in Umbria.
Todi is, amongst other things, well known for its central Piazza
del Popolo, considered to be one of the finest in Italy, for
the famous antique fair which takes place each year during the
Easter period and for the fine quality of its local cuisine.
Due to its geographic position, Todi can be used as a starting
point to visit the most attractive and well known towns of Umbria,
all within easy reach
In the neighbouring area the towns of Assisi,
Orvieto, Perugia,
Foligno, Spoleto
and Gubbio certainly deserve a visit.
Also to admire is the spectacular Cascata
delle Marmore (water falls), the Subasio Mountain and Lake
Trasimeno. Additionally also of note are the towns of Spello,
Montefalco (famous for its Sagrantino wine), Bevagna
and Norcia.
